If you plan to sell items such as lightroom presets, vector graphics and PDFs (digital planners) then Adobe may be the way to go.

Pricing for access for Adobe Creative Cloud varies based on monthly or yearly plans. They do offer student discounts and I’ve always negotiated my annual rate down.

GIMP

GIMP, a versatile image editor, is designed to work seamlessly across multiple operating systems. It is similar to what you would see inside of Adobe without the price tag. It is open-source software, which means you have the freedom to modify its source code and distribute your own changes if you are into that.

The highlight of GIMP is that it mimics Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in my opinion and functions pretty much the same. If you are going to create digital artwork, then it is a great tool to resize your digital art into the proper size formats
