We’ve all heard that the early bird catches the worm. Well, the early investor catches glory. I swear if I could go back in time and tell my younger self to set aside money every month, I’d be a millionaire by now. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve managed to do ok, however, had I known what I know now, I’d be Ballin, living in the Maldives sipping on an exotic drink with a bank acct offshore.
Don’t Get Caught Up
It’s so easy to get caught up in life and forget that in order to live your best life, you need money. Putting off investing, essentially costs you $100 a day. Yes, Goddesses, it equates to $100 per day. Time is not on our side, we have some catching up to do. My desire is that my fellow Goddesses gain the same knowledge that I have gained.
That One Friend
We all have that one friend that seemingly has it together, but doesn’t share any of the details, or tea on what she is doing to make it happen. The Melanin Goddess aims to change the landscape and have everyone on the same page. My friends over at Ellevest hope to change the landscape for women.
I ask women what is it that you want to have and what do you want to achieve. Once you identify whatever it is you desire, you have to take action. Plain and simple, everything starts with a simple action. We as Melanin women are at the bottom statistically when it comes to saving and investing. We traditionally don’t invest in stocks & bonds because the entry-level was intentionally set to keep up from investing.
